Our Stamford Daycare Gives Back

At our Stamford daycare (and soon at our new Wilton daycare, opening in 2012!), we teach the importance of giving back. While we teach the children that it’s important to give back to the community and to those less fortunate all year long, it’s at this time of year – the season of giving – that the children can truly experience the joy it brings to give unto others. CT Early Learning Center Giving Gift Suggestions

The holidays are here! This is a wonderful, exciting time of year —especially if you have small children. Little children allow us to see the magic of the holiday season. Everything is new: the lights, the music, the decorations. Their excitement is contagious. Everything is a discovery!

As parents, we’re making discoveries too. We’re discovering new aspects of our children’s personalities every day. As they grow and change, we’ll see them differentiate between items and exhibit preferences —the favorite toy, the only blanket they’ll fall asleep with. It’s a fascinating process – and one we can use to guide our answers when people ask us for gift suggestions for our children. Continue reading

Getting an Early Childhood Head Start for the Holidays

It seems like everybody is gearing up for the holidays! It’s hard not to get excited – joy is in the air and the holiday decorations are flying off the store shelves in anticipation. Your children are sure to pick up on the holiday spirit– after all, it doesn’t take much to overjoy the little ones!

As the holidays grow nearer, now is the time to prepare your child by giving them an early childhood head start for the upcoming holiday events at home and at their CT early learning center. Though they are joyous times, the holidays can also be overwhelming, particularly for young children who haven’t had much experience navigating the holiday season. Continue reading

Cold & Flu Season at Childcare Facilities & Preschools in CT

Already the snow has begun to fall and the weather is getting crisp and cold at our day care in Stamford CT. Now is the time that germs and viruses begin to spread, and all the schools, childcare facilities and preschools in CT are certainly not exempt. Children enrolled in early learning programs at daycares and preschools are very susceptible to catching colds and the flu, and it can be difficult to detect the symptoms early on and put a stop to the spreading of the virus. It can be equally difficult to determine whether or not your child is well enough to attend their preschool or day care in Stamford CT. Continue reading

Early Learning Program Spotlight: Helping Your Preschooler Achieve Independence

If you are the parent of a young one like I am, it feels like every time you blink your eyes, your child has grown just a little bit more. You’re overfilled with pride when you watch your tiny tot reach a new milestone – like when they roll over for the first time, start to walk, begin speaking in easily identifiable sentences or pour their first glass of milk on their own.

It’s bittersweet, isn’t it? One moment, you can’t stop beaming. The next moment, you’re filled with a sadness that you never expected. Your baby is growing up and becoming independent. Hard as it may be at first, learning independence is a very important step toward your child’s early childhood development education. Continue reading

Ensuring Proper Nutrition at Home & Away

Recent studies are showing that in the fight against childhood obesity, the focus should be shifted to local daycare centers. Childcare providers as well as instructors of CT early learning programs are responsible for our children while we’re away at work, and often times, that responsibility includes feeding our children.
