Happy with the care my grandson receives there. I love his teachers and the learning they are providing. Unhappy with the snow policy. Understand it’s a private center but should take into consideration of the public school closings more. Why make staff travel in poor weather conditions if the town is delayed? If parents have children in school system with a delay they are not going to drop one child off and go home to another child. Safety of staff should be of utmost importance as well.
If i can give building blocks (Avon) a 10 star review i totally would.
The executive director, Melixa is AMAZING. When i first went to tour the place, she took her time to learn about my child and what my family was looking for and she was patient and happy to answer all my questions and i was so impressed with how clean, organized and plain nice the facility is. Everyone was so helpful and cheerful, i was set this was the right place for my little one.
My son has Miss Trish and Miss Courtney as his class teachers and they are both so wonderful. They really LOVE all the children in the room, they care for them like they are their own. We truly felt that love and care from the first day my son was there. He is just so happy there and we see a genuine pure joy when we go pick him up everyday.
Can’t recommend this place enough. They are truly amazing. Thank you for all you do for those kiddos

We moved to Avon a year ago and my wife and I both agree that the best part of our move was finding a daycare like Building Blocks for our son.
We toured several daycares in the area before settling on building blocks. Our decision ultimately came down to the experience of the staff and the quality of the facilities. At most of the daycares we visited, the teachers had been there 6 months or at most two years. At building blocks, teachers had been there for 5, 10 or even more years. Having this stability in the staffing ensures our children have a consistent experience from quality teachers, and that those teachers are treated well enough to stay there.
We have had great experiences with all of the teachers that have worked with our son. What also impresses me is the way every teacher in the school seems to know every student. It helps to foster a community and feel like your child has people looking out for them.
The location is nice, set down from the road so the kids have a private place to play outside.

My daughter was in another nearby daycare until January (where I had some negative experiences). When I switched her over to Building Blocks when a spot opened up, she was actively asking to attend “school” every day and loves the teachers so much! I’ve had such a great experience with all staff and they are all great with her and can actually get her to nap!!!! The staff seems to stick around (not a lot of turnover) and there’s so many teachers with so many years there that it provides so much stability and consistency with the young children (one of the things lacking at a lot of other daycares). I am so happy that I was able to get her enrolled at Building Blocks and will always sing their praises.

I was very apprehensive leaving my child at first, but they were kind and patient with me and worked hard to make me feel comfortable.
Daycare can get a bit pricy, but the level of care, activities and experiences my child is having at this young age is more than i can hope for! Def worth it.

Our 3 year old attends Building Blocks and we have been so impressed by the quality of care he receives there! The teachers are experienced, consistent, and caring, and have been truly invested in our child’s growth. I am always impressed by how calm the class is when I return at the end of the day to pick him up. We wish we had sent our older child to Building Blocks at this age too. I highly recommend this center.
Miss Bridget and the entire staff at Building Blocks Learning Center in Avon go above and beyond to create a warm, nurturing, and learning environment for their students. Miss Bridget's years of experience shine through in her interactions, connections, and activities with students. We feel so confident that our son is in good hands when away from home.
Building Blocks has become a part of our family! When we were looking for childcare, we did a lot of research and toured many options. We knew from the start that Building Blocks was for right for our family. From our initial tour, to our son’s very first days of school ever, to every day we drop him off, we have the utmost confidence that he is getting an incredible education in a caring atmosphere. Our son runs into school every day, eager to see all his friends, play and learn, and spend time with his teachers who he loves!
I'm so grateful for Building Blocks-Avon. We moved our 2 year old daughter to Building Blocks from a different school in September and we all have been very pleased with the experience! Our daughter has been thriving, learning and growing in ways we never would have expected. Building Blocks takes the time to nurture each individual child and his or her interests. I cannot recommend Building Blocks highly enough!
In the twenty six years that I have worked for Building Blocks in Avon CT, I feel like they have become apart of my family. The Director and Assistant Director are AMAZING. They are always there for the Families and their Staff. They constantly go above and beyond to keep our family growing in supportive ways. Some of my co-teachers have also become family to me outside of work. I have been honored to have built such a strong connection with them. The Families that I have been introduced to over these years are all such wonderful people. I have so many memories that I will forever cherish in my heart. I am thankful that I have been able to be a small part in their child’s life.
For the last thirteen years Building Blocks has been an integral part of my career. Melixa the director and Lauren the assistant director are both very eager to help support their teams in anyway they can. They continually work together to create a positive and warm environment for both the families and the staff. The wonderful thing about Building Blocks is that the families and coworkers become part of your family.
Our daughter has excelled beyond our dreams. She is in the pre k program and loves it!

It's been almost a year since my son went to this day care, and the children always look happy and my son is very like.

Building Blocks Learning Center in Avon is such a wonderful place for our two children. We relocated from Pittsburgh, PA and our kids feel so at-home in their new school! There is no early learning curriculum like it! The kids are always doing hands-on activities like exploring the outdoors even in the snow, practicing their art in creative ways and learning values such as kindness through sharing with peers. Our 18-month old even enjoys picnics on a warm day and our 3 1/2 year old loves all of the extra time he gets to spend outside on the playground playing games like tag and doing science lessons such as making paper or finding bugs!

Ms. Raven, Ms. Allyson, Ms. Lindsay, Ms. Judi, and Ms. Trish have been wonderful, wonderful teachers and guides for Ruby! ❤️We feel so comfortable at Building Blocks. Ruby is thriving and we can’t wait to send her little sister soon!

As an educator, I looked critically at every educational program in the area for our son after a year home during the pandemic. I wanted our son to have a nurturing and welcoming learning environment in which he could grow and progress. We were immediately impressed by the caring and devoted teaching staff, including Ms. Courtney, Miss Lydia, Miss Mary, Miss Emily, and Miss Emmy who have become like family to us. They recognizes our two boys' interests, plan creatively to cater to the needs of their students, and care deeply about their growth and social, emotional, and physical well-being. They truly know each boy and care for them like they were their own. We receive detailed lesson plans from each teacher with amazing opportunities and ideas to extend learning at home and we always look forward to the sweet art projects that are evidence of their learning and excitement! Our oldest is almost off to Kindergarten, and we feel strongly that he will be well prepared.
We love Building Blocks SO much, but truly, our love is for the teachers who make our boys feel so safe, special, and loved each day.

Sending our daughter to Building Blocks was one of the best decisions we have ever made. She entered the infant room over the summer and she has learned SO much, and has had so many great experiences! Mrs. Kristen, Miss Erica, and Miss Marisa have been incredibly welcoming, nurturing, and caring. The updates, photos, and art projects go above and beyond my expectations! We have even created an art gallery wall at home for the adorable projects our baby girl creates! Melixa and Lauren are the dream team and really provide excellent communication in a timely manner. My husband and I agree that we found the best daycare in the area! Thank you to the entire staff for supporting our family and making us feel so welcome in the Building Blocks community.
I would give Building Blocks Avon a thousand stars if I could. All three of our children have attended Building Blocks over the past 4 years and have had wonderful experiences with every single teacher. Special shout out to Ms. Marisa! She makes the classroom such a warm, friendly, and fun environment for all the children to learn and grow. It brings such comfort knowing that our girl is so well cared for and loved during the day. We love Ms. Marisa and we are so thankful to have her as our daughter’s teacher!
